HelpDental Assist vs Kiroku

Prices and features checked 17 August 2026

Kiroku is a UK dental notes company, founded in 2017 by a dentist and a machine learning engineer, and the longest established of the products on this list. It started with clickable templates and now also offers ambient listening through a feature it calls Co-Pilot.

Assist is ambient only. It shows the source of note text for the clinician to review before copying.

One thing to get straight before the table. Kiroku publishes two tiers and the ambient voice notes are on the upper one. Compared like for like against Pro, the two products are priced within pennies of each other on monthly billing, and Assist is the cheaper of the two on annual. The Essential tier is the cheaper number you will see quoted, and it is the tier without the ambient feature.

02Which to pick

When Kiroku is the better pick

  • You use Aerona, Dentally or Dental4Web and you want the note pushed in with one click rather than pasted.
  • You want consent forms, referrals and patient signatures in the same tool as the notes.
  • You are happy working from clickable templates and do not need ambient listening, which puts you on their cheaper Essential tier.

When Assist is the better pick

  • You want to try it properly without handing over a card and without a date in the diary to cancel.
  • You want to see the source of note text before copying.

03Questions

Questions about Kiroku.

Is Kiroku cheaper than Assist?
It depends which tier you mean. Kiroku puts ambient voice notes on Pro, at £99.99 a month plus VAT, or £89.99 a month plus VAT billed annually. Assist is £99 monthly or £79 a month paid annually. So on the tier that actually does the same job, monthly is level and Assist is lower on annual. Their Essential tier at £29.99, or £26.99 billed annually, is the cheaper number people quote, and it is the tier without the ambient feature. At the same money Assist shows the source of note text for the clinician to review before copying. Their pricing page is the place to check the current figures.
Do both listen to the appointment?
Yes, though Kiroku puts it on the Pro tier. They call it Co-Pilot and also offer clickable templates and a freestyle voice mode. Assist is ambient on the one plan.
Which one connects to my practice software?
Kiroku does, for Aerona, Dentally and Dental4Web, through a Chrome extension. Assist does not connect to any practice software. You copy the note and paste it in.
