I am here for my check-up. The upper right back tooth has been sensitive to cold for a few weeks. It stops within a couple of seconds. No pain at night or when biting.

A fictional appointment, from conversation to reviewed note

The patient reports brief upper right sensitivity to cold. The clinician states that UR6 has an MOD amalgam with marginal breakdown, confirms the medical history and soft tissue findings, and records the agreed restorative appointment. Assist structures these statements for clinician review.

Dr Tristan TinnBuilt by a dentist

I built Assist because late notes were costing too much of the day.

I tried other tools, but none worked the way I needed them to in my own surgery.

So I built Assist for myself. It now works the way I want it to, and I want to share it with other dental professionals.

What if the draft is wrong?
Edit it in review, or ask Assist to redraft it. You can correct a single line or send the whole note back for another pass. Assist produces a draft, and you remain responsible for the clinical note you sign off.
Can I use my own templates?
Yes. Assist structures the appointment against the template you select.
Does it work with my practice system?
Once you have signed the note off, it copies out clean and formatted into the system you already use. There is no integration project first.
Do I need a special microphone?
No. A clip-on wireless microphone usually gives the cleanest audio, particularly in a noisy surgery, but you can try Assist with the device you already have.
What do I tell the patient?
Let them know at the start of the appointment that it is being recorded and transcribed. If a patient would rather not be recorded, you can type or dictate a short summary after they leave instead.
What happens to the recording?
The recording is processed to produce your draft. You decide when the finished note is copied into your practice system; see the Assist privacy notice for the full handling and retention details.
What happens after the trial?
Nothing is charged automatically, because no card is taken for the trial. If you want to carry on, you add a card then.
